Wrap it up 🙂
Eat a colorful plate no matter where you are.
Who has the feeling of struggling to eat well when being on a trip or during travels?
Often, people don’t make the best food choices when traveling, only because they’re looking for an easy and fast snack. I believe chocolate bars, cereal bars, or something similar are the most popular snack on the go. These, unfortunately, aren’t filling or satisfying for long, still are calorie dense.
To have the best experience on your trips and travels, give your body proper fuel! Therefore, I want to propose some Healthy meals for your trip. Starting with: Wraps!
That’s why I found wraps very helpful. Especially when taking a day trip, they are easily preparable in the morning or on the day before. They are filling, full of nutrients, and definitely better than any cereal bar. 🙂
Wonder what to put in a wrap?
Basically, you can put in your wrap whatever you feel like having in it. Nevertheless, it is always good to have some foods for all macros in there to get a good, healthy and nutritious wrap.
- Tortilla is the basis for any regular wrap (I like whole grain tortillas to spare some carbs. Or try the sweet potato tortillas with lots of fiber). If you are not a fan of tortillas, try Ricepaper.
- 50 g baby spinach or any lettuce of your choice (put it in for the crunch)
- 30 g avocado / salmon (get in some good fats. Fats are filling and very much needed by our bodies)
- 100 g Veggies of your choice (get in all the nutrients and vitamins)
- Tofu / chicken breast / omelet / hummus / tuna (don’t forget protein in your wrap. Your body needs it! Your muscles will thank you for it and you will feel more satisfied and full after eating the wrap)
- Some cheese (I like parmesan or Harzer 😊 Do it for the taste and stickiness)
Making a wrap is no science. I always first prepare the wrap with filling, put it then in the microwave (just for about 30 seconds) and roll it up after. Then you can backe it in a pan if you want to. Aaaand your wrap is ready to be packed up or you can eat it directly on a plate with a dip on the side! 🙂
Voilà.
