Dumbell Romanian Deadlift

It’s been a week… This last week, I had the pleasure to go through my period on the second week of Prep. Maybe not the greatest topic to write about, but I think we women should talk openly about it and don’t handle it as a no-go topic. So, becasue of that, I was very bloated beginning of the week. The second and third day are the worst and were very hard on me in terms of cramps and pain. I felt like a balloon and also didn’t feel as strong as usually.

Nevertheless, I always try to stay active and move. Sleep was suffering too, which was why energy was not on the highest either. All this said, it is okay to be not at one’s best every single day. We need to listen to our bodies and that’s what I did. I adjusted intensity to what felt alright, but also went all in if I wasn’t in pain. It is okay to not be okay.

Diet

This week was pretty easy on the diet. We did not change the macros at all from last week. You can see them below in the table. They are still high and I am enjoying every bite of food I get. I managed to have some chocolate this week too which was needed and I hit the macros on the gram.

The weight on the scale stayed the same all week. Though, I felt that I was holding a lot of water. Not only because of my period, but also because of bad sleep quality and daily stress. Fiber intake I keep high at about 30g, which also contributes to what extend the body holds water. Overall, after the period was over and I had a good long sleep, weight dropped by 0,6 kg.

Workout

Beginning of the week the workouts were okay, not great, due to above mentioned reasons. While the week progressed they were better, but I was not back to full strength. The bad sleep projected to my strength going down. Since I got a good long sleep, I was able to hit new personal bests and felt like a beast in the gym.

Body form

Beginning of the week I did not see my body form improving. I was bloated and looked very soft. End of this week we could see a tiny improvement. It is going in baby steps, just as we want it to be.

Summary

This week was okay, not the best but I am happy with the progress I made. I am still at over 2000 calories and fuel my body with a lot of colorful whole foods. Weight is dropping and bodyform is improving. The main concern and uncertainty right now is that I am losing weight too quickly. It is very hard to tell right now as my weight would stay the exact same for seven days and then do a huge drop of almost a kilogram, where it then stays for the next days again before it does another drop. Therefore, for the next week still no adjustment in macro targets, cardio or step goal. I keep enjoying a looot of food 🙂
