Working out

Week #6 is done. Two more weeks, and it is halftime already. I had the best week. Not only did I feel physically great, I felt awesome mentally.

Diet

My macro targets haven’t changed in the last week. I am still at about 2000 kcal, which is great. I love the flexibility in food. Last week I had everything from chili con carne, to burger, everything homemade and tracked of course.

Balance is key. Also, I try not to eat different kinds of foods always just because I know what works well with my body and digestion, but I make sure I still have a big variety by mixing up at least one meal a day.

My meal of the week: Breakfast Burger. 🙂 I never actually thought about having burger for breakfast. Usually, I am not a big burger person. But as my partner left on a trip and had two burger buns that would have been thrown away, I decided to use them. The burger buns I toasted, made a fried egg, put salad, tomato and Quäse (super high protein cheese) on it and some mustard. It was absolutely delicious. The burger had 412 calories. Not too shabby!

Workout

Workouts were great this week. Since Prep, I started going to the gym in the evening. Generally, I am not a fan of going that late because the gym usually is much more crowded during that time. But I noticed I had a lot more energy then. Having some proper food before the workout just makes all the difference.

Nevertheless, I somtimes decide to do upper body workouts in the morning. One thing that is definitely better in the morning is the improved consistency. Going to the gym in the evening takes some motivation and discipline. If one is lacking that and struggling to get into the gym, going first thing in the morning could be something to try.

My lifts are all improving. Altough being in a calorie deficit, I can still lift heavier than before. This is very exciting.

Bodyform

My body definitely is changing. The fat goes, and the muscle stays, at least until now. I lost quite some fat around my waist, and some on the arms.

Summary

All in all, the week was great. I had some good workouts and still am at about 2000 kcal. I love every bite of food I get and put all the fuel to good use. My body recovers well, especially at night.
