Week 9 in prep is over and so far it was probably the hardest. We are 8 weeks out!

Diet

Although I am still at 2000 calories and we have not changed them for a couple of weeks (since week 5), I am hungry more often than before. That is why I switch to more voluminous foods like salads, veggies, etcetera. I try to focus also on spreading the food across the whole day, so I don’t feel too depleted between meals. This is why now I am eating approximately five times a day. It definitely helps me not to think about food, too.

If you’re interested in my macro targets, please check in last weeks blog post Week #5 – Road to Bikini 2022. I went into bit more detail and also show more of the food I eat there.

Meal of the week: For the first time in a German supermarket, I found Topinambur, also called Jerusalem artichoke. It is a root vegetable and tastes great when baked. I sliced it up thinly, added a bit of oil, spiced them nicely, and put them in the oven together with some carrots beetroots at 200°C for about 20 minutes until all crunchy. As a topping on the salad, it tastes fantastic.

Workout

My workouts are still good. I keep my strength and can even increase the weight on some exercises.

Nevertheless, I noticed that the workouts take more effort, and my body is struggling in the end. It is noticeable in the lower body sessions. The upper body sessions are still almost unchanged from previous weeks.

My weight did not change this past week. Probably due to sleep deprivation beginning of the week and a little craving that led to shooting over my calories… As weight hasn’t dropped, we introduce cardio now twice a week for 25 minutes.

Bodyform

My body keeps changing and altough the weight didn’t change in the last week, I leaned out nicely.

Summary

All in all, the week was ok. I am still pleased about where I am, although workouts are getting harder and hunger feelings kick in. I definitely am on the lookout for high voluminous foods now to keep me a little fuller throughout the day. Let’s see how the next week goes.
